MYOPIA GLASSES

In the past if a patient was short-sighted they'd get glasses, maybe also get contact lenses, and each time they had an eye examination these glasses/contact lenses would need to be made a bit stronger than the last time. Thankfully now there are ways to slow down this progression of short-sightedness. One way is with Myopia Management glasses lenses.

 

They are truly are state of the art, and we can supply six different types​

• DOT Lenses (Diffusion Optics Technology)

• Essilor Stellest (launched in UK 2022) 

• Hoya MiYOSMART (launched in UK 2021)

• Hoya MiYOSMART iQ (launched in the UK in 2026)

• Zeiss MyoCare/MyoCare S (launched in UK in 2023)

• Tokai Myogen (launched April 2024)

 

All of these lenses look and perform like traditional glasses, but help to slow down your child's short-sightedness. In other words, your child can wear a pair of glasses that look like anyone else's, but receive the benefits of myopia management whilst doing so. All of the different lens types have warranties meaning that if the child's prescription increases by a given amount in a given time then they are entitled to another set of lenses for free.

 

As with all of our glasses, we can set up an interest free direct debit scheme to help spread the cost.

MiYOSMART lenses can be made as sunglasses or as photochromic (change colour in the sun) for the same price as clear lenses. Stellest lenses can be made as sunglasses for an extra charge.
